Ekta Kapoor who recently launched two successful show, Bade Acche Lagte Hai on Sony Entertainment Television and Parichay on Colors, has decided to try her luck on historcial love story.
The show is titled as Bajirao Mastani based on the romance between Maratha ruler Peshwa Baji Rao I and his wife Mastani. Ekta was always fascinated by the blend of politics, intrigue and religion of those times and this beautiful love story.
Baji Rao was a Maratha king in Pune who was a strong believer of Hinduism and against Mughal rule. Bajirao defeated Bangash's army and restored Chhatrasal to his throne. In gratitude, Chhatrasal gave Bajirao his 16-year old daughter Mastani.
Though Mastani was a half-Muslim, Baji Rao fell deeply in love with her, thus upsetting many people in his kingdom, including his staunch Hindu mother Radhabai. Ekta has been planning and conceptualising the show for a long time but had kept it under wraps. She has also locked in one of the top TV channels to telecast the show soon.

Zee TV is coming up with a new heart wrenching, motivational story titled as "Afsar Bitiya" about a simple hard working girl Krishna who has a very small dream, to study. Sanghmitra Hitaishi is seen as Sharda Kumar, an I.A.S. officer (District Magistrate) in the promos currently running on Zee TV.

Dimple Jhangiani made an exit from the Indian television industry due to her wedding in November 2011. She dropped her goals of becoming a successful actress because her in laws were against her profession. She was last seen on Star Plus' Raja Ki Ayegi Baraat where she played the character of Sandya. Now she is all set for her second innings as an actress on the small screen. She is determined to do some good quality work and mold herself according to different characters.

Shweta Tiwari, the winner of Bigg Boss Season 4, is making an entry into the SAB TV's Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo. The show is trying hard to gain some TRPs by bringing in the one time favourite bahu of hindi soaps. It is expected that her entry will spice up the show.
Shweta Tiwari has already started shooting for the show and the episode will air tonight. She will play a cop who comes to the family to keep a check on them. As per the ongoing track Ishwarlal (Raju) aka Rajiv Thakur has planned to take a Samadhi as he wants to stop the drama of being the fake father of Apurva (Sumeet Raghavan). Shweta will investigate if Ishwarlal is really going to take a Samadhi and how. This will cause a huge drama in the family.

Arvind Kejriwal, the social activist and a strong supporter of Anna Hazare, is appraoched by Bigg Boss production house, Endemol India and Colors channel to appear in fifth season of Bigg Boss.
He was awarded Ramon Magsaysay Award for Emergent Leadership in 2006, for activating India's Right to Information movement at grassroots and social activities to empower the poorest citizens to fight corruption by holding the government answerable to the people. Kejriwal is also a Saathi (fellow) of the Association for India's Development.
But it is very unlikely that he will appear in a show like Bigg Boss. He already have enough of media exposure and he don't need a Bigg Boss platform to express his views.

Jonty Rhodes, the all-round cricketer who was best known for his fielding on the pitch, is expected to be one of the housemates in the Bigg Boss house on the show's fifth season.
Currently touring with the Mumbai Indians for their latest T20 outing, Rhodes could just be a part of the gang locked away at the house in Karjat. Rhodes spoke to us, addressing the buzz around his entry into the house. The avid surfer and biker (that's what he does in his spare time) will be leaving behind partner Caroline and children Daniella (11) and Ross (7), should he choose to be part of Bigg Boss 5.
Talks are still on for the details and duration of his entry in the house. He refuses to He has cricket coaching commitments until mid-October, so he is not sure when they would be able to put him in to the show.
Bigg Boss Season 5 already have a ex-cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu, if Jhonty Rhodes will join the show he will have a campanion in Sidhu.
